About Michelle

While originally from Memphis, TN, Michelle Morris has spent most of her adult life in North Carolina and feels honored to call the Tar Heel state home. During her undergraduate studies, Michelle discovered her passion for women’s reproductive health and public policy, interning as a health educator for Planned Parenthood of South Africa and developing community-based programs for local nonprofits. She went on to study public opinion trends, attitudes, and behaviors at the Pew Research Center in Washington, DC. She returned to Chapel Hill to receive her Master’s in Public Health and has been working in both the public and private sector to support evidence-based statewide programs as well as data-driven pharmaceutical and tobacco research. Her current professional work involves public health consulting for a life sciences research firm, as well as outreach and education for pediatric oral health. As a wife, a mother to three young children, and a resident of Raleigh, Michelle cares deeply about her community. She aims to bring her professional skillset in program planning and evaluation to BLOOMHERE to build an empowering, loving, and supportive space for women survivors in North Carolina.
